The Hawaii Island Chapter of The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) will hold its annual meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Hilo Yacht Club at 77 Laehala St.

UNA-USA is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to building understanding of and support for the work of the UN.

“We work through education and advocacy programs to emphasize the importance of cooperation among nations and the need for American leadership at the UN,” said spokesman Steve Sparks. Among its programs, the Big Island group supports the Model UN at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
